Insulated Glass units are actually two separate pieces of glass in your window frame. The two layers of glass are separated by a sealed air space that provides insulation for the window. These windows help to maintain a constant temperature and reduce condensation. In addition, IG units help provide soundproofing to reduce street noise in the home and there are federal tax credits to help with the cost of installation.

Low Emissivity Glass, or Low E Glass, is reflective glass that is popular for its ability to resist ultraviolet light. This type of glass lets in natural light, but blocks heat and ultraviolet light and reduces glare. Low E glass helps reduce energy costs, as well as protecting carpets, curtains and furniture from sunlight and fading. Low E glass is available for home and office applications.
